International Driving License: Here's What You Need to Know

How to Apply for an International Driving License in India

Thanks to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), applying for an IDP is now a straightforward process. Follow these steps:

Visit the Nearest RTO: Go to your local Regional Transport Office with all required documents.
Online or Offline Application: You can fill the IDP application form (Form 4A) either online through the Parivahan portal parivahan.gov.in or directly at the RTO.
Submit Documents & Fees: Carry your original documents, photocopies, photographs, and the applicable fee.
Verification & Processing: After submission, the RTO processes your application and usually issues the IDP within 3–4 working days.
